If you don’t live in California, when you think of California, you probably think it’s all sunshine and beaches? I know I did. There are plenty of things to do in Orange County that aren’t beach-related, but if you visit, you might as well see the beach too.
Orange County has a wide footprint, covering 34 cities. You won’t run out of things to do here.
1 – Disney California Adventure Park
Who doesn’t love Disney and amusement parks? If you have kids, you might like it by default, but only being two Disney parks in the US, if you are in Orange County this is worth a visit. In recent years they have added some great new attractions, one of my favorites is Cars land, based on the movie “Cars”.
2 – San Clemente Pier
San Clemente Pier is a 1,296-foot wooden pier built-in 1985. The pier is free to access and a great option for surfing, enjoying the beach, fishing, and eating fresh seafood at the local restaurants.
3 – Lyon Air Museum (LAM)
If you are into history, this would be a fun visit. LAM is a 30,000 sq. ft. facility at the John Wayne Airport in Orange County. The museum was founded by Major General William Lyon, USAF (Retired), and features World War II-era planes, cars, and motorcycles.
4 – Huntington Beach
A fun beach town with shops, good food, and chill vibes. Also, some good surfing. This where surfing competitions are held. Pick up a board and catch some waves, or rent an electric bike and cruise around downtown in the California sun.
5 – Dana Point Harbor
Dana Point Harbor is a boating community, but also known as the “Dolphin & Whale Capital of the World”. If you are into boating or would like to relax and do some whale watching, this is a must-visit. You can take guided whale watching tours, or rent kayaks, plenty of options here.
Enjoy Your Visit To Orange County
There are way more than 5 things to do in Orange County, but these are 5 would be on the top of my list.
One word of caution, from a local, who happens to be a personal injury lawyer in Orange County: “Be careful when you are out sighting seeing, watch out for oncoming vehicles.”
Stay safe and enjoy your trip!
